Green Strobe Lights Now Legal on Michigan Governmental Snow Plows!

House Bill No. 5247 which amends the Michigan Motor Vehicle code to allow use of "flashing, rotating, or oscillating amber or green lights by a state, county, or muncipal vehicle engaged in removal of ice, snow, or other material from the highway and in other operations designed to control ice and snow, or engaged in other non-winter operations, was signed by Governor Snyder on June 8,2016 and becomes effective on September 7, 2016.  We have provided a copy of the house bill at link below.

Also we have a link to Ohio DOT press releases concerning their adoption of green lighting. Ohio uses green lighting in conjunction with amber.

Air Foils on rear of salt trucks!

Not a new concept for sure, did you know the technology and effectiveness of air foils on rear of snow removal trucks has been proven through research?  Try link below for more information:

Pictured is air foil installed on Van Buren County Road Commission truck which is located in the "lake effect" snowbelt of Southwest Michigan.  We have received positive feedback on effectiveness of this air foil in keeping the rear of the truck relatively snow free although our winter has been rather meager thus far.  This air foil is a slightly lower profile to avoid contact with front end loader bucket.  It is of stainless steel construction and can be retained by the customer and remounted on replacement trucks.  Call us for details!
